About Thera

Thera was created to make therapy accessible, understood and culturally-relevant—because mental health support should never feel out of reach or out of touch.

In our global survey, we identified three key concerns among online therapy users:

Confidentiality and privacy

We understand that privacy and confidentiality are not just preferences: they’re essential. Your mental health journey involves deeply personal conversations and private health data, and we know how much trust that requires. That’s why we’ve designed Thera to achieve the highest standards of security and protection.

All calls take place via a secure, encrypted server, ensuring that your conversations remain completely private. If anonymity matters to you, we respect that too: you only need an email address to register and begin your journey. At Thera, your peace of mind is just as important as the care you receive.

Effective care that leads to real progress

Therapy should feel like progress, not just a conversation. We understand how frustrating it can be to feel like therapy is going in circles: like you’re talking but never truly moving forward. Our goal is to help you achieve meaningful outcomes, not just book another session.

If you ever feel stuck, we’re here to support you. Switching therapists is always an option, but we encourage open communication to strengthen and improve your existing connection.

Finding a therapist who understands you

Connecting with your therapist is one of the most important parts of your journey. But we know it’s not as simple as matching you based on a few criteria: it’s a process, much like meeting someone you connect with in real life. Sometimes it takes time to find the right fit, and we’re here to support you every step of the way, ensuring you feel understood and supported throughout.
