How it works
1. Apply: submit your credentials and relevant clinical information.
2. Interview: if your application meets our criteria, you’ll be invited for a brief interview to set your rates, discuss your experience, approach to therapy, and how you can contribute to Thera’s culturally relevant care model.
3. Training: you will undergo training to use our platform effectively.
4. Onboarding: onboarding process typically takes 3–14 days to get set up on our secure, HIPAA-compliant platform.
5. Start practicing: once approved, you’ll be matched with clients based on your expertise, language skills, and cultural competencies.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the requirements to join Thera?
Therapists must hold an active license (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, PhD in Clinical Psychology, etc.), submit a completed credentialing form, and pass a background check.
How is therapy delivered on Thera?
Therapy is delivered virtually through our secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. Options include asynchronous messaging (text, audio, video) and scheduled live sessions via video, audio, or chat.
How do I get matched with clients?
Thera uses a proprietary matching system that considers your licensure, areas of expertise (including cultural and language skills), and availability to match you with the clients who best need your expertise.
How do I get paid?
Thera pays via Stripe. You’ll earn for live sessions.
Can I be a Thera provider if I have other work?
Yes. As an independent contractor, you can work with Thera on a part-time basis or supplement your current practice without any non-compete restrictions.
How often do I need to respond to clients?
We ask that you set your availability for client communications at least five days a week. The flexibility of our platform lets you manage your response times while ensuring clients receive timely support.
